Acclaimed Swiss contemporary dance artist Foofwa d'Imobilité and his company bring two innovative dance pieces to Southern Africa in September 2010. Their visit forms part of a tour presented by Pro Helvetia Cape Town, the Swiss Arts Council, and includes performances of The Making of Spectacles and Pina Jackson in Mercemoriam in the major centres of Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg, as well as Maputo and Antananarivo.  Company members include Ruth Childs, Filibert Tologo, and Anja Schmidt.

World-renowned classical dancer and choreographer Vijayalakshmi’s new choreographic work, Swan Lake in Mohiniyattam, runs from 8 to 12 September and accomplished local dancer, teacher and choreographer Jayesperi Moopen’s From Canefields to Freedom, from 14 to 16 September at The Dance Factory, Newtown, Johannesburg.

The Peoples Theatre once again brings the magic of live theatre to Joburg children in its new production Sleeping Beauty and Other Fabulous Tales, this September and October.

The 2010 installment of the Table Mountain Blues Summit promises to be the highlight of the South African blues scene once again with the cream of blues musicians in South Africa and some international names for good measure. It will be held at the Bloemendal Wine Estate in Durbanville again on 27 November 2010.

The obscenely brilliant Molly Bloom, starring acclaimed South African actress Jennifer Steyn directed by Nicky Rebelo, is set to steam up the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio from 14 September to 9 October at 8.15pm nightly.
