Auditions for The South African Ballet Theatre’s 2011 Graduate Programme will be held on Saturday 9 October 2010 at 10h00. The venue is The South African Ballet Theatre (SABT) studios at the Joburg Theatre, Hoofd Street, Braamfontein.
A cross-section of South Africa’s most outstanding young musicians will be joining the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra for its annual Youth Concerto Festival on 8 September 2010.

Bridal Africa Expo to acknowledge excellence at the Sandton Convention Centre (6 - 7 November)
For the first time ever in South African bridal history, a bridal exhibition will both acknowledge and award local specialist bridal designers and couturiers. The launch of the Bridal Africa Specialist Designer Award, to be hosted at Bridal Africa at Sandton Convention Centre on the 6th and 7th of November 2010, will see exhibiting SA designers design a “Red Carpet Showstopper” for a SA celebrity of their choice. The designer who delivers the best interpretation will win an international travel trip for two and can choose between London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong or Dubai.
Jazz and African Music Nights on Friday nights in the Rendezvous Theatre in Pretoria
The State Theatre again ended 2009 on a high note with its annual Mzansi Fela Festival. The curtain goes up in February when we will host Jazz and African Music Nights every weekend until the end of the year.
The Peoples Theatre is plunging into 2010 with a flourish, with The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Spot’s Birthday Party and More Adventures of Noddy all on the entertainment menu.
Israeli counter-tenor David D’Or SA Tour has been postponed, no dates supplied
PLEASE NOTE: The Embassy of Israel regrets to inform you that due to circumstances beyond their control, they have had to postpone David D’Or’s tour to South Africa. The concerts were scheduled to take place at Regina Mundi Church on 25 October and at the State Theatre, Pretoria on 27 October.
Lucky Fish Music Festival Postponed till September 2010
Authentic Ideas and Route 28 Resort; the organisers of the Lucky Fish Music Festival, regret to announce the postponement of this year’s event until September 2010.
The Lucky Fish Music Festival was scheduled to take place from 3 – 6 September this year at the Route 28 Resort in Jagfontein, it has now been rescheduled to 2 – 5 September 2010 for economic reasons.

Private Sector Investment in the Johannesburg Inner City
Investment in the Inner City is booming thanks to the continuous hard work by the Central Johannesburg Partnership (CJP) and the Johannesburg Inner City Business Coalition (JICBC).
A study recently completed by the CJP reveals that members of the JICBC have invested nearly R4 billion between 2006 to date in the Inner City of Johannesburg. The study, completed by Hans Jooste, General Manager of the CJP, also indicates that capital investment by the private sector in public space and including joint ventures is sitting at a staggering R27,4 million from 2006 to date. Further investment of R120 million in the public space is planned over the next three years.
