Chris Chameleon is currently in Europe to do prestigious Theatre Tours in both the Netherlands and  Belgium. This is the third consecutive year that Chris has been invited back to perform in theatres across the Netherlands,

Curb Record’s top selling South African band, Just Jinjer, announced today that they would be postponing their first major US tour due to last minute visa issues.  The band had been set to travel to the states as a featured act on the Vertical Horizon Fall 2009 US tour.

The launch party to take place on the 28th October 2009, at The Bohemian, 19:00. Entrance: R30.00 and don't forget to get a glass of FREE Ragga Punch. Where the band will then kick off a Nation-wide tour, for all their ardent, die-hard fans and supporters in the SA.

Bloemfontein bands turned out in their numbers to enter the Doritos Be Heard global music search on Monday, and talent scouts are hitting the road to visit other campuses around the country as well.

FOKOFPOLISIEKAR (fuck-off-police-car) – “Forgive them for they know not what they do”, is a South African rock n roll documentary film about 5 young Afrikaans punk rockers that transformed a generation during a unique time in history; in one of the most reluctantly complex and evolving societies of the 21st century. Directed by Bryan Little and produced by Filipa Domingues of Cape Town-based filmmaking collective, Fly on the Wall.

Taxi Violence bids us farewell as they leave on their first European Tour today.  They will play 12 shows in Germany and Holland.

Well-known for founding bands Muse SQ, Sterling and CODA, South Africa’s leading electric cellist Carol Thorns is launching her debut album on the 29th October 2009 at what is set to be a magical event.

Just Jinjer has returned home to SA after a decade recording and touring overseas. Having spent eight years in the USA and two more in London, Just Jinjer is now signed to Curb Records in Nashville and is currently very much a global group with distribution of their music secured around the world.  Just Jinjer has returned to SA to build on all that they have achieved locally and on every continent they’ve had the privilege to play on.

This brand spanking new pop-rock band from Bellville, Cape Town, is in the business of good times.  They formed in November last year and have since been working on pre-production for their debut album "GOLD" which will hit the shelves hard on 19 October 2009.

On Saturday, 12th September 2009 in celebration of Steve Biko, the Pan African Space Station (PASS) II launched their online radio to the world.

TOP Cape Town deck-master Dean Fuel will be performing alongside World Number 1 DJ Armin Van Buuren on his Godskitchen Tour of SA in mid-June.

Performances take place in Johannesburg (MTN Expo Centre, Nasrec) on June 13 and Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town on June 15 for which Godskitchen will bring their Boombox concept (a completely unique architectural, multimedia, visual and music experience) to South Africa for the first time.

The Independent Kings of Cape Town, widely known for their uncompromising, good solid brand of rock ‘n roll, are back in studio to record their much anticipated second full length album, 'The Turn'.

The new music vid for my current single 'This Angel Town' has just just premiered on TV in South Africa, and is attracting some rave reviews.

The Afrikadey Festival in Calgary, Canada, has chosen Nomfusi to anchor their Miriam Makeba tribute in August.  The festival, which is in its 18th year, has featured international world music heavyweights like Salif Keita and Angelique Kidjo. 

Mavis Vermaak lends a hypnotic soundtrack to the day... bridges generations, languages, eras and landscapes and at times sounds as European as the united colours of Benetton. Her evocative words roll off the edge of the morning, her emotion is stripped and unapologetic. This strange music settles in your central nervous system and keeps resonating in your inner ear.

At the 15th Annual MTN South Africa Music Awards (SAMA’s) held at Sun City, Saturday 2 May 2009, Cape Town Jazz Saxophonist, Moreira Chonguica, was awarded two SAMA awards for his second album - ‘The Moreira Project Volume 2 - Citizen of the World’, for ‘Contemporary Jazz’ and ‘Best Album Packaging’.
