Hot Water, dubbed as “the next big South African band, about to take the country - perhaps even the world – by storm” will be starring alongside Freshlyground at the Old Mutual Encounters Concerts at Emmarentia Dam in Johannesburg on Saturday, 4th April.
The band was recently heralded as “the next Johnny Clegg”, in a recently published article in the Sunday Independent. The band’s music isn’t easily defined. It is a fusion of elements of folk, blues, rock, world and South African genres and is largely driven by rhythm, largely African and blues beats, and clever lyrics full of heart. Similar to Freshlyground, whom the band will be sharing the stage with at the concert, Hot Water is a sensation wherever they go and their music appeals to all ages and races, bridging historical divides and defined musical stereotypes. So grab your picnic basket, kids, friends or loved ones and head down to the ever-green Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, Emmarentia Dam. Concerts start at 13h00 and run till 08h00. Tickets are available at www.tunegum.com or at the event entrance from 12h00 noon each event day. Add as favourites (32) | Quote this article on your site
